Dear Friend,
What is the first thing you do when you get paid?
Pay rent?
Pay debts?
Buy food?
Reward yourself?
Though these may be good ( You don’t want to be kicked out of your house or have to deal with an annoying debtor), you should have a sense of peace right?.
If this becomes your routine over time, then you have a problem.
You will always live in the present without preparing for the future.
You will always have anxiety over money because you are surrounded by need.
You will never have the liberty to pursue your passions because you have to put up with that annoying supervisor because you do not have a financial cushion to take risks.
There is a better way to utilize your pay
Allocate
10% to tithe
20% to investing
10% to saving
10% to giving
50% to your expenses (rent, food, fees, transportation)
Its important to follow the order above, if you are a beginner you may not invest 20% of your income, you can start with 5% the goal is to ensure, you invest consistently every pay check.
The best way to manage your money is by tracking it.
